My name is Olivia Triplett, and I am currently navigating the challenges of being an MS2 at the University of Arizona College of Medicine-Phoenix. Unlike those who discovered their calling early, my passion for medicine blossomed at the end of my undergraduate studies. Now, I firmly believe that in every lifetime I could live, I would end up back in the field of medicine. My journey, anchored in significant laboratory experiences at Dana-Farber, Chroma Medicine, and beyond, is fueled by a profound commitment to delve into genetic and small molecule therapies for chronic illnesses such as cancer, ALS, Parkinson's, and genetic disorders like DiGeorge syndrome. However, while my dedication to research is unwavering, what propelled me towards the field of medicine rather than solely research is the holistic approach it affords. It's not solely about uncovering scientific breakthroughs within the confines of the lab; it extends to being a steadfast support for patients navigating their challenging journeys. To me, health and humanity are timelessly interconnected, and I hope to be a physician in the future that not only holds and disseminates knowledge on up-to-date therapeutics, but who also stands alongside my patients and helps guide them to the part of their journey where they feel like themselves again. I hope to show this dedication through my artwork.
